TEMPO 1-to-1 Mentoring

TEMPO's 1-to-1 Mentoring Program creates meaningful relationships between Emerging Women Leaders (EWL) and experienced TEMPO members. Through personalized guidance, shared experiences, and ongoing support, mentors and mentees build connections that foster confidence, leadership growth, and professional development.

How It Works

Mentor and mentee matches are thoughtfully made once each year based on a short application and participant preferences. Following the matching process, all participants are invited to a kickoff event designed to introduce pairs, share program expectations, and provide resources for a successful mentoring experience.

Program Commitment

Mentoring relationships are designed to last a minimum of one year. While every partnership is unique, participants are encouraged to meet approximately once a month, with additional check-ins by phone, email, or text between meetings. At the end of the year, pairs may choose to continue their mentoring relationship—either formally through the program or informally on their own.

Shared Responsibility

Successful mentoring relationships are built on mutual commitment. While mentees are encouraged to take the lead in scheduling meetings and setting goals, both mentors and mentees play an active role in maintaining communication, sharing ideas, and making the most of the experience.

Resources & Support

The program offers flexibility while providing tools to help each mentoring relationship thrive. Participants receive a welcome guide with conversation starters, goal-setting resources, first-meeting recommendations, and best practices for mentors and mentees. These resources provide a strong foundation while allowing each partnership to grow in a way that best meets their individual goals.

Mentor Circles

Mentor Circles are one of TEMPO's most valued mentoring opportunities, offering a dedicated space for both TEMPO members and Emerging Women Leaders (EWL) to connect, learn, and grow through peer-to-peer mentoring. While each community has its own Mentor Circles, every group is built on the same foundation of trust, collaboration, and shared leadership experiences.

How It Works

Mentor Circles are formed quarterly for both TEMPO members and Emerging Women Leaders, with each Circle consisting of six to eight participants. Two volunteer co-facilitators help coordinate meetings and guide discussions, while participants shape conversations around their unique goals, challenges, and experiences. Most Circles meet monthly, creating consistency and allowing meaningful relationships to develop over time.

The Experience

Every Mentor Circle is built on trust, confidentiality, and equal participation. Members are encouraged to share leadership challenges, celebrate successes, exchange ideas, and learn from peers navigating similar career stages. Because meaningful relationships take time to develop, participants are encouraged to commit to the program for one year and attend at least eight meetings annually.

Creating an environment where participants feel comfortable sharing openly is essential to the success of Mentor Circles. All discussions, as well as Circle membership, remain strictly confidential, fostering honest conversations and authentic connections.

Coffee Connections 

Coffee Connections offers a simple, meaningful way for TEMPO members and Emerging Women Leaders (EWL) to expand their networks one conversation at a time. Through one-on-one coffee meetups, participants build authentic relationships, exchange ideas, and connect with women who share similar interests and professional aspirations.

How It Works

Coffee Connections is available to both TEMPO members and Emerging Women Leaders, with each community participating in its own matching process. Participants complete a brief interest form and are paired with another member of their respective community for a casual coffee conversation.

Whether you're looking to broaden your network, gain a new perspective, or simply connect with another inspiring woman, Coffee Connections provides an easy and approachable way to build meaningful relationships.
