EWL Deconstructed Professional Development Day - Session One
Maximizing Your Skills to Thrive During Uncertainty
with Natalie Forward, Managing Director, Novo Group, Inc.

Date:
 Thursday, June 18th

Time: 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
Location: Zoom Webinar

Program Description:

EWL, we heard you! In May, we surveyed Emerging Women Leaders to find out what content is most needed right now while we navigate work, life (many of us with kids), and a global pandemic. The #1 request was for content around “career growth in a pandemic.” In the first session of our Deconstructed Professional Development Day (see below), TEMPO member Natalie Forward will address this theme via three key topics, and send attendees off with resources and ideas to continue learning:

In this 60-minute session, Natalie will cover:

  1. Strategies and Skills to Lean into During Times of Uncertainty
  2. Defining Performance Expectations (and is now the time to take on a new challenge?)
  3. Introduction to the Four Areas of Emotional Intelligence

About Natalie: When you meet Natalie Forward it’s easy to understand what she’s all about – solving complex people challenges! Her natural curiosity about people – and how they navigate through this thing called “work” - is what has kept her energized and motivated in the human capital space for almost two decades. She builds trust with her colleagues and clients alike and consults on topics and trends throughout the employee life-cycle. Natalie’s most recent engagements have included designing solutions related to workforce planning, talent selection, employee engagement, emotional intelligence, leadership development and navigating and executing on modern recruitment strategies that have supported explosive growth for her clients leading to increased revenue and profitability. Natalie has led recruitment teams and sales teams – and has served as a high-performing individual contributor – throughout her career. The basic principal in all her work is solving business problems by leveraging every organization’s greatest asset: their people!

Natalie received a BA in Organizational Communication from UW Whitewater and is a proud alumni of Delta Zeta Sorority. In her free time, Natalie is an active volunteer at Christ King Church & School in Wauwatosa. A TEMPO member since 2017, Natalie is an active Mentor Circles participant, serves as an EWL mentor, and chairs the TEMPO Professional Development committee.

What is “EWL Deconstructed Professional Development Day”?
We look forward to the Emerging Women Leaders Professional Development Day in September all year – a full day learning, advancing leadership skills, and connecting with 150+ of Milwaukee’s best and brightest rising stars, community-minded change makers and up-and-coming leaders. This September would have been the 5th annual workshop, but… we are in a global pandemic. Due to COVID-19, the event will be packaged a little differently this year, but EWL members and guests can still expect all of the above! Instead, we are “deconstructing” the Professional Development Workshop and offering a series of virtual events held throughout the Summer and Fall, including a collaboration with the TEMPO Leadership Event in October. We are planning to hold the 5th Annual Professional Development Day (in person!) in May 2021. More details coming soon! If you have any questions, please contact Event Committee chair Megan Carver or vice chair Cassie Schell.
