
Emerging Women Leaders (EWL) are the future generation of TEMPO members. Qualified nominees show career trajectory with increasing responsibilities. They are identified as dynamic and influential leaders. Nominees have developed the reputation of a ‘rising star’; the next generation leader; or they are on the partner track. New members are selected on a quarterly basis.

EWL NOMINEES MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
- Professional Experience: 8+ years of professional experience (internships not included).
- Aspire to TEMPO: 5-8 years away from meeting the TEMPO profile (at least 5+ years of Executive experience).
- Leadership: Displays leadership within her organization/company; showcases her impact & influence within company walls.
- Community Involvement: Demonstrates ongoing commitment to the community through involvement and leadership in professional, nonprofit and/or civic organizations.

There’s no shortage of opportunities to get involved as an Emerging Women Leader! EWL is a "choose your own adventure" type of group, and committee leaders, TEMPO staff and fellow EWL members can help you navigate the combination of activities that work best with your schedule and desired engagement level.
Included in the EWL annual dues fee of $500 (2026-27 Fiscal Year):
High Caliber Programming/Events (no cost)
- Program Meetings featuring high-caliber community leader speakers including guest speakers, TEMPO members and fellow Emerging Women Leaders, exclusively for our Emerging Women Leaders members. (September, November, January, March)
- TEMPO Program Meetings (No charge for EWL Members)
- January Economic Outlook - April Annual Meeting
- Professional Development Series featuring hands-on workshop style training for TEMPO, EWL members and teams. (May, August, November, February)
- TEMPO & EWL socials (October & March)
- Annual Holiday Party on Thursday, December 10, 2026, at the Pfister Hotel

MENTORING
- EWL Mentor Circles peer mentoring with small groups of fellow EWL members. (Sign-ups quarterly)
- 1-to-1 Mentoring with TEMPO member mentor. (year-long formal mentoring relationship with a TEMPO mentor)
COMMITTEE ENGAGEMENT
- Joining a committee is a great way to engage with a smaller group of EWL members, showcase your leadership abilities, and have an impact on the organization. Furthermore, active committee members are most likely to ascend into EWL leadership roles which include committee chair and vice chair positions, or one of four EWL Leadership Co-Chairs.

CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTION
- (Optional) $50 donation to the TEMPO Foundation 501(c)3 charitable organization* (members may opt out or request a separate invoice by contacting the TEMPO office.) The TEMPO Foundation advances emerging and experienced women leaders by providing undergraduate scholarships and continuing education grants to females across the state of Wisconsin. Navigating the Path to TEMPO: The RISE Process
TEMPO members represent diverse leaders with more than 10+ years of professional experience and influence within the community. In addition, this group of women have served in executive, senior, and C-level leadership roles for more than five years and are having an impact within their organization and beyond. Rising to TEMPO requires a combination of years of professional experience, EWL involvement, and personal drive.
