2020 NOMINATION INFORMATION

Nominations Accepted September 23 - November 1, 2019.

BACKGROUND:

TEMPO Milwaukee is excited to present the 30th Annual Mentor Awards Luncheon on February 13, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Pfister Hotel. In alignment with one of its core values, TEMPO Milwaukee established the Mentor Awards in 1990 to recognize individuals and organizations in the community dedicated to mentoring. Mentor Award recipients are nominated each fall by individuals within the Milwaukee community (nominators and nominees need not be affiliated with TEMPO Milwaukee).

On February 13 we will honor two local individuals and one local company or organization with Mentor Awards. In addition to being publicly recognized, winners each dedicate a $5,000 scholarship to a four-year educational institution in Wisconsin which is directed to an undergraduate female student. The scholarships are made possible through the TEMPO Milwaukee Foundation, TEMPO Milwaukee's 501(c)3 charitable arm.

IMPACT:

  • Since 1990, TEMPO Milwaukee has recognized 63 individuals and 14 corporations or organizations with Mentor Awards. View the complete list of past recipients here.
  • Through the TEMPO Milwaukee Foundation, scholarships totaling more than $265,000 have been granted to undergraduate female college students in Wisconsin.
  • TEMPO Milwaukee's internal mentoring initiatives provide a platform for members and Emerging Women Leaders to give and receive mentoring in small group and one-on-one settings.
    • 95 TEMPO Milwaukee members participate in 14 Mentor Circles.
    • 107 Emerging Women Leaders participate in 15 EWL Connects (peer mentoring) groups.
    • 89 mentors and 89 mentees are matched in the EWL 1-to-1 Mentoring Program, which pairs TEMPO Milwaukee member mentors with Emerging Women Leaders mentees.
