March Program Meeting: New Local Leaders Tackle New (And Old) Challenges
Led by David Crowley & Lafayette Crump
Date: Thursday, March 18
Time: Noon to 1 p.m.
Location: Zoom

Description:

This past year has been one of upheaval across the private and public sector. A pandemic, racial unrest, persistent inequities and a severe economic downturn have touched everyone in the City and County of Milwaukee. At this program, we’ll meet two leaders facing these challenges head-on: Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley and Milwaukee Commissioner of City Development Lafayette Crump. They’ll share their goals, plans, vision and optimism for creating a more prosperous future for all stakeholders in the City and County.

About our Speakers:
As a lifelong resident, David Crowley grew up in Milwaukee’s 53206 neighborhood and credits the youth organization Urban Underground for saving his life. David worked as a community organizer and as a legislative aide before he was elected in 2016 to serve Wisconsin’s 17th Assembly District in the Wisconsin State Legislature. David is a member of the ACLU, Milwaukee Urban League Young Professionals and the Milwaukee NAACP. He currently lives in Milwaukee with his wife, Ericka, and his three young daughters. David Crowley was elected to serve as Milwaukee County Executive on April 7, 2020 and was sworn on May 4, 2020.
